EV profiles contain EV-specific settings, influencing the effectively applied EV configuration.
You can assign an EV profile to an appliance-based EV charging station configuration. In this case, EV profile fields effectively override the EV charging station configuration.
Without introducing a breaking change in our API, EV profiles are meant to supersede EV configuration in the long run: For instance, the effective minRequestedSoc field of the EV profile is taking a higher precedence than what is set directly as EV configuration. Therefore it is advised to follow these best practices:
- Use EV configuration for charging station/appliance specific settings that don't fluctuate when you want to charge a different EV
- Use EV profiles when you want to set-up the properties specifically belonging to your EV
